We are a New Orleans-based woodworking studio led by master craftsman Dan Alleger Custom Woodworking, with a legacy of fine woodworking dating back to the 1980s and formal business operations since 1997. Our team specializes in creating custom furniture in Arts & Crafts, Shaker, traditional, and modern styles, alongside full-service furniture refinishing, restoration, and repair. We prioritize meticulous attention to detail in every phase of our work, from initial concept and design to final finishing touches, to deliver pieces that exceed client expectations. Our small uptown workshop is equipped with specialized traditional and modern tools, including a curated collection of antique hand carving tools, to support precise, high-quality craftsmanship. We adhere to strict professional standards for wood selection and traditional joinery techniques, including mortise and tenon and dovetail construction, to ensure lasting durability. Our finishing process is a customized, exacting science, with many of our finishes mixed in-house to avoid one-size-fits-all applications that can damage antique pieces.
